Marya Alford (she/her) works in a variety of media that includes film, photography, sculpture, works on paper, performance and sound. Her work embodies the space of remembrance, longing, and loss. Her work is often research based, historic in nature, and creates a translation or transformation from the merging of different disciplines, forms and thoughts. She lives and works in Los Angeles, but spends much of her time in the California desert.

Marya received her BFA from Otis College of Art and Design and her MFA from USC.  She has been teaching art and photography for the past 19 years.
