About

Marya Alford is an artist living and working in Los Angeles, California with her partner Jesse, dog Opal, and cats Francis and Pearl.  She also spends much of her time in the desert landscape of Wonder Valley, CA.  

Her work is subject-based and varies in medium accordingly.  She has worked within photography, drawing, sound, sculpture, and performance.  Her work is often research based, historic in nature, and embodies the space of remembrance.

Marya received her BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2003 and her MFA from USC in 2005.  She has been teaching art and photography for the past 15 years.
